 APC UK Congratulates Oyetola

The All Progressives Congress United Kingdom has stated that the declaration of the Osun state election tribunal which held that His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola was the winner of last year’s governorship election was a victory for transparency and hardworking.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of APC UK Interim NWC, J K Adebola and made available to the press by Hon. Jacob Ogunseye, Adebola said the judgment did not come as a surprise as all discerning minds knew all along that the supposed “victory” of Gov. Adeleke was a Pyrrhic victory fraught with alleged electoral irregularities that can never stand up to scrutiny.

The majority judgment read by the Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume that gave the victory to Oyetola with the lawful majority lawful votes of 314,931 against Adeleke’s 290,266 is a victory for Osun people who were short-changed by the alleged electoral irregularities.

In his words, Adebola said the fallout from this is a test case for INEC in the forthcoming general elections and advised that INEC should as a matter of urgency, map out a strategy to checkmate over-voting and underage voting at the forthcoming and future elections to forestall the scenario that’s playing out in Osun State.

He added that though Governor Adeleke has a right to go to appeal and may well end up in the Supreme Court but with the weight of evidence adduced at the Tribunal that led to this judgment, he has a herculean task of overturning this judgment.

Adebola enjoined Osun electorates to come out en mass on 25th February 2023 to vote for Tinubu/Shettima ticket saying democracy is winning.
