Tinubu, APC Coasting To Victory, APC UK Assures

If all indices available translate to reality in the coming Saturday’s election, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu may ignore any other campaign activities as the party is set to emerge victorious at all levels. These were the words of the ruling party’s chapter in the United Kingdom while assuring the party faithful to remain calm as the party will win the election irrespective of the hardship created by the economic policy of the present administration.

In a statement signed by the director of publicity of the Interim National Working Committee of the party, Mr Jacob Ogunseye, it was revealed that all is set for the party to continue the government at the centre for the next four years. He based his assurance on the recent party surveys conducted by different independent organisations, realignment across the party lines, the reawakening of some power brokers, the youth’s decision to enlist in the armies of voters etc have brought succour to Tinubu’s aspiration.

According to the statement, Ogunseye referred to the Nigerian Human Rights Community (NHRC) poll which tips the APC candidate to victory in the election. “In the poll, out of 19365 respondents, 7940 representing 41% are voting for the candidate of the APC while his closest rival got 5035 which represents 26% and the candidate of Labour Party received 4067 to clinch 21%”. With this data, it will be difficult for any party to beat APC in the coming election. Apart from the NHRC poll, other credible poll agencies have predicted a landslide victory for the party.

“Also of notice are the recent realignment in the polity, the statement said the recent reorganisation among the politicians is a pointer to the APC’s victory. “Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Shettima have shown the world that they are capable to run a successful government through their hardworking during the campaign, they have traversed the length and breadth of the country and many have been convinced that the duo have more than what it takes to lead the country into the promised land. As we can see, opposition party members have been joining APC in droves.

The All Progressives Congress United Kingdom chapter reassures Nigerians irrespective of their locations to consider the coming election as a golden opportunity to choose the best for the country. “The best opportunity is beckoning at us, we must seize it, the only way out is by voting APC in all elections. We have all to gain and nothing to lose, Asiwaju has done it and we are very confident he won’t let us down., the statement concluded.

Oronsaye Report vs Dev Commissions in NigeriaThe proliferation of development commissions across all six geopolitical zones directly contradicts the recommendations of the Oronsaye Report, which advocates for streamlining and reducing government agencies to enhance efficiency and cut costs. These commissions, each with its own executive leadership, board members, and administrative structures, further expand the already bloated public workforce that the report seeks to curtail. Instead of consolidating existing agencies and eliminating redundancies, creating these commissions increases bureaucratic overhead, leading to additional financial burdens on the government.Furthermore, establishing multiple development commissions encourages duplication of functions and inefficiencies rather than ensuring targeted regional development. The resources allocated to these commissions could be better utilised by strengthening existing institutions and improving inter-agency coordination. By disregarding the principles outlined in the Oronsaye Report, the government risks perpetuating an unsustainable governance structure, prioritising political expediency over fiscal responsibility and institutional effectiveness.Do we need multiple development commissions, each with its own bloated bureaucracy, or a streamlined federal development structure rooted in the six regions? The NDDC’s track record – marked by massive allocations yet minimal tangible impact – raises serious concerns about inefficiency and fund mismanagement. A centralised framework could enhance oversight, eliminate redundancies, and ensure resources are effectively deployed for real development. Is it time to rethink our approach?#RenewedHope#RenewedHopeIsHere See MoreSee Less
